How To Score 90+ Score in eLitmus Exam

Hello Readers, Welcome to my blog. Here I am going to guide you with step by step details to score above 90 percentile in eLitmus examination.

My Experience :

Back in the year 2017, when I was a final year Engineering Graduate I had taken this eLitmus Exam for Placement opportunities. Since my college was not among the tier 1, 2 3. the placement opportunities were very less and the ones which visited were for tech support roles. Hence I had to look for Pool campus or off-campus drives. Even Off-campus drives were less and difficult to crack because of huge competitions. From few of my friends and seniors I came to know about the placement consulting examinations like Amcat, CoCubes and ELitmus. Here I am going to explain in detail about my experience and tips or tricks to score well in eLitmus exam to get more placement opportunities.

My ELitmus Score :

So let's get started. Below is my scorecard and total percentile. Just to show you the proof of my attempt in the examination.

My overall percentile is 92.77 which is actually a very great ph. score. With this score I was getting interview calls for every company that I applied in eLitmus. Here I cannot teach you quants, logical reasoning and verbal but, I will share the strategy that I have used to get this good percentile. Trust me the idea worked me very well and I am sure this would work for you as well without any doubt.

Exam Pattern :

Those who have already given the test know how hard and difficult the exam is. Well even I knew about this that the exam would be tough and I cannot afford multiple exam attempts as I used to get very less pocket money. I prepared very hard for this exam and tried to manage a good score with the strategy I am going to share here. Make sure you are also well prepared for the exam and with my ideas you will get good score.

Lets check out the Overview of the exam :

  1. Exam Name - eLitmus
  2. Mode Conducted - Written
  3. Cost - Rs920
  4. Duration - 2 hours
  5. Type - non – Adaptive
  6. Total Marks - 600
  7. Negative Marking - Yes
  8. Score Validity - 2 Years
  9. Type of job - IT and Core
  10. Average Package - 5.5 LPA
  11. Chances of getting Placed - Medium
  12. Difficulty Level - High

ELitmus Syllabus :

eLitmus changes its Syllabus every 2 to 3 months. Glad you’re here. So lets get started with eLitmus pH test syllabus.

  1. Problem Solving and Reasoning
  2. Quantitative Aptitude
  3. Verbal
Order of section is as mentioned above. 20 Questions will be asked from each section , no sectional time out and there is negative marking.

Companies :

Name of the Companies that recruit via eLitmus are as follows–

  1. McAfee
  2. Barracuda Networks
  3. Bidgely
  4. Collabera
  5. Novell
  6. CGI
  7. Accenture
  8. ITC Infotech
  9. HCL Technologies
  10. Mindtree
  11. Genesys
  12. Seagate
  13. GeekyAnts

Steps to Score :

Here is my simple steps to follow to score good marks in the Exam :

  1. Split the time : 50 minutes for Quant, 50 minutes for Reasoning and Last 25 Minutes for English
  2. Please start from Quant my advice or else from Reasoning according to your command over the subject/topics.
  3. Don't start the paper from English because its the easiest one, but trust me This will not help you.
  4. And at last in Last 25-30 minutes go for English

Solving Each Section :

Logical :

  1. Questions related to data Interpretation, data sufficiency , cryptarithmetics etc. etc. will be present.
  2. Please start from Data Interpretation as it will be having 4 questions and easy to solve. Questions will be lengthy but take your time 15-20 minutes and solve all the 4 questions.
  3. Also try to attempt data sufficiency questions as it will help you to fetch another 4 questions marks.
  4. Please do not touch cryptarithmetic questions as it will be tricky and takes your whole time and you lose solving the values of alphabets.
  5. For those who does not know cryptarithmetic questions -> donkey + monkey = gold ? type of questions where you have to find the value of alphabets.
  6. Now you have solved around 8 questions which means 50+ marks i.e more than 80+ percentile.

Quant :

  1. Till now you have solved 5+ questions in Logical and lost 50 minutes. Make sure you invest only 50 minutes to quant.
  2. Start from first question. Go through the question and see if you can solve it.
  3. Don't waste too much time on one single question as we have only 5-10 mins for each question.
  4.  If you think its very tough, cannot solve and lengthy go for next one.
  5. If you think you are familiar with the problem, lengthy and able to solve the question then take your own time up to 8-10 minutes and solve it.
  6. Solve only 4-5 questions and do not get tempted and solve 8-10 questions as it may lead you to negative score.
  7. If you have solved 4+ questions your score will be 40+ and above 70+ percentile.
  8. Try to solve 5-7 questions if you have time and don't go beyond 7 questions.

Verbal :

  1. Now you have around 25-30 minutes to solve verbal questions.
  2. Verbal section is the easiest part in this exam.
  3. Easily you can solve 12-15 questions in this section as questions will be very easy.
  4. Start from the first question. Do not jump directly to paragraph question. You will have enough time to reach this.
  5. If you solve at least 12 questions, your score will be 100+ and 95+ percentile.

Highlights :

So now you have scored:
  1.  5+ questions in Quant
  2.  6+ questions in logical
  3. 10+ in Verbal
Which means you have scores 85+ percentile in Quant, 70+percentile in Logical and 90+ percentile in Verbal. So in total you have scored 90+ percentile as I said.

Important Note : Please do not get tempted in hurry burry and solve 10+ questions in each section as you may lead to negative scoring.

This is it!!! That's all about the strategy and about my experience which will definitely help you score more. Hope this helps you!!

Thanks you guys' and all the best for your exam.
